Vegan-Friendly Groceries
There are a lot of different places you can get some good vegan groceries in the Greater Cincinnati area. Here are some of our favorites, enjoy! As always, if you have any suggestions or would like to give us feedback, please contact us here!
Jungle Jim's
International Market With 2 locations in the area (Eastgate and Fairfield), you have to check one out if you have never been! This 6 acre store is playfully decorated with singing animal statues and other wacky stuff as you make your way through a fun-house maze browsing food and other related items from over 75 countries!
Whole Foods
Market. Also with 2 locations in the area (Rookwood and Mason), they are an American supermarket chain which exclusively sells products free from artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, sweeteners and hydrogenated fats. Being the only USDA Certified Organic grocer in the United States, the chain is popularly known for its organic selections.
Trader Joe's
Grocery. A neighborhood grocery store with amazing food and drink from around the globe and around the corner. Most sell wine and beer and they also list every item name that is vegan on their website!
The Fresh Market
Gourmet Market. Also with 2 locations in the area (Kenwood and Hyde Park), they are a specialty grocery store chain offering organic produce and other options for vegans and non-vegans alike.
Healthy Alternative
Natural Food Markets. Independently owned and operated, this smaller Natural Food Store is great when you need some vegan specialty item in Northern KY. Located in Florence, they have groceries, health and beauty products, vitamin/supplements and more!
Clifton Natural Foods
Grocery. A local, family-owned natural food store located in CLiftonm, just minutes from the UC campus. They offer organic produce, bulk grains, beans, nuts, seeds, herbs, vitamins, dairy alternatives, chemical-free & cruelty-free cleaning products and more. Nearly 30 years standing!
Kroger Marketplace
Grocery. Although there are other chain grocery stores (Target, Wal-mart, Meijer) that sell some vegan items, Kroger Marketplace actually has their own brand (Simple Truth) which offers a lot of vegan options so I wanted to give them special recognition. They also sell more vegan items than any of the other chains in the area. Items are mixed in with the non vegan options but are marked with green signs that say “Live Naturally”.
